The richness of the hydrothermal heritage of Ischia is the crown jewel of the thermal gardens, genuine oases of wellbeing, spread throughout the most beautiful areas of the island, near the best beaches and the coast. The thermal gardens of Ischia offer that which the ancient Romans already knew over a thousand years ago: The exceptional healing properties of the waters of Ischia, among the best in Europe.

The volcanic origin of the island makes these waters rich in minerals and a cure-all for many diseases related to the skin, circulation, and muscles. The list goes on: Arthritis, orthopaedic diseases, rheumatic diseases, respiratory diseases, dermatological diseases, cellulite, and much more.

Today, the thermal gardens of Ischia combine the healing properties of the natural springs and nature with modern facilities for relaxation: Waterfalls with water jets, whirlpools, mud baths, and medical treatments, amid breath taking natural scenery and lush vegetation. Many thermal gardens on the island have agreements with the Italian sanitary system and have a health department and a centre for beauty treatments. The indoor and outdoor thermal water pools offer different temperatures and are set in tropical gardens with bars and restaurants. In addition, most of the thermal parks provide their customers a beach equipped with sun beds and parasols. Among the most beautiful, we recommend Giardini Poseidon Terme, in the gorgeous bay of Citara in Forio: An Eden, with 60 square kilometres of tropical gardens and 22 thermal water pools, continuously drained and refilled, hydromassage, saunas and sun terraces, restaurants and cafes, and a private beach. The Parco Idrotermale Negombo stretches for 9 acres in the bay of San Montano, in Lacco Ameno, and houses thermal pools, a wellness centre, a private beach, bars and restaurants. The Parco enjoys a long tradition of hosting events and concerts featuring internationally renowned singers.
